at last if kept in shade. The more direct sunlight it is exposed to during daytime, the more the sepals tend towards bright pink.
Wade Burkhart crossbred the hybrids “Grayrigg” and “Carla Johnston” from the UK and the result was introduced in 2006 as “Zarte Versuchung” (which translates as “Tender Temptation” into English). The name is suiting, since this plant is not simple to care for. The growth is referred to as upright, but support is mandatory. And the same can be said about cutting back, though the hybrid does not branch out easily. And even overwintering is unfrugal, at last not to me when i cut back all plants radically in fall prior to placing them in the greenhouse. It did survive again this year, but only sprouting out at one place up to now. But it is still end of February, and ever in the last years this hybrid was among the last to start to grow. And therefore even propagation is more complicated.
Nevertheless this Fuchsia is dear to me, because it is so tender and therefore is a nice contrast to others. The sepals are curved elegantly, and the corollas ail grow the longer the older the blossoms are.
The one who is tempted by this hybrid may obtain it- to my knowledge- by all means at the nursery R. Friedl and Michiels.
