By crossing “Flament Rose” from Belgium and “White Marshmallow” from GB this is the result: Big compliments to Mrs. Burgi Klemm!
“Traeumerei” did inherit partly the color from its lineage, but does not grow as strictly upright as these, more a kind of semi-hanging. The cause for that may as well be the multitude of blossoms, showing up early summer to late fall and dragging down the delicate, slightly red colored branches. The white single blossoms with pink stripes are fascinating not solely by their long sepals with green tips, but as well through the umbrella-like corollas with frilled edges. Despite the great number of these blossoms the hybrid has got a somehow airy appearance; this might be the cause for the name, best translated as “Dreaming”.
Placed within half-shade this beautiful Fuchsia is very impressing, given enough fertilizer. Beside that i found that this hybrid needs a remarkable lot of water.
