The first week of the new year starts with a Fuchsia in a cold colour, wich is better positioned within the shade than the sun. The idea to choose this Fuchsia came to me becouse a scion of the last year, not cut back in autumn and kept in a warm place, is producing a blossom right now. Till this blossom is unusual small, nevertheless i do quite enjoy it!
This Fuchsia-hybrid is a breeding of Garrett, USA, 1989. The parents are ‘Blue Satin’ and ‘Quasar’.
The blossom is of a striking dark-blue colour, seen at only a few Fuchsias. The large, filled blossoms leave an intense impression on anybody who has seen my hanging basket- and butterflies seem to be also fond of these blossoms.
